Our research

Our work focuses predominantly on the biological clock.
We are interested in different clocks which differ in the period of their oscillation: the tidal clock is driven by the gravitational pull of the Sun and Moon on the Earth and peaks twice per lunar day (every 12.4 hours).  The circadian clock from the Latin “circa”, meaning “around”, and diem, meaning “day”, oscillates with a period of 24 hours, and the seasonal clock is driven by the changing seasons and therefore is characterised by a period of one year.
